Starbucks Japan launches new seasonal drinks featuring Kyoho grapes
Starbucks Japan has launched two new seasonal drinks that focus on the Kyoho grape, a variety highly regarded in Japan, to usher in the autumn season. The drinks were made available starting August 17 and will only be offered for a limited time.
Rich Kyoho Frozen Tea
The first of the pair, the 'Rich Kyoho Frozen Tea,' is priced at 680 yen (approximately US$4.27). This beverage combines black tea with cassis to enhance the grape's flavor profile. Unique to this drink is the use of Kyoho jelly and fruit pulp at its base, providing a rich, juicy mouthfeel and a balance to the astringency of the black tea.
Kyoho Chillax Soda
The 'Kyoho Chillax Soda' is available from 590 yen. It includes a distinctive 'green citrus' syrup that pairs well with the grape's flavor, and its lemon-lime notes give it a refreshing edge. This new soda option has followed the successful trend of Chillax sodas since their introduction in 2025.
Both drinks have received positive feedback for their ability to deliver a quintessential Japanese grape flavor, ideal for invigorating patrons during the transitional summer-autumn period.
