Nexira acquires Keragum to enhance its growth strategy
Nexira, a leading company in the natural ingredients industry, has expanded its reach by acquiring Keragum, a Moroccan company known for its expertise in carob-based ingredients. This strategic acquisition is part of Nexira's Ambitions 2030 growth strategy, aimed at fortifying its position within the natural ingredients value chain, particularly in the burgeoning carob sector. Mathieu Dondain, Vice President and CEO of Nexira, emphasized the importance of this acquisition, highlighting that it allows the company to secure high-quality raw materials and generate tangible local value.
Keragum specializes in the production of carob ingredients, which are increasingly in demand due to their natural and sustainable qualities. By acquiring Keragum, Nexira hopes to drive stability and sustainable growth in this key market. Dondain stated, 'With Keragum, Nexira takes a new step forward. As with acacia, our ambition is to invest as close as possible to production.'
In another development, OSF Flavors is addressing the formulation challenges of clear whey beverages and carbonated protein drinks. The company has launched a new formulation framework that incorporates both masking and application-specific architecture. This innovative approach aims to tackle the taste challenges associated with whey-derived bitter peptides. By focusing on the TAS2R receptor pathways, OSF reduces the bitter peptide signal without altering the overall flavor architecture.
Additionally, T. Hasegawa USA Inc. has introduced HASEMILK, an advanced powdered flavor technology meant to replicate the taste of real milk without using dairy ingredients. This product provides a creamy, milk-like flavor and supports clean-label formulations. It's designed to meet FDA guidelines for natural flavors, offering a non-allergen, vegan, and non-GMO solution. HASEMILK is available in various forms, including fresh whole milk and skim milk powder types.
