Mocco's FermTech Platform Revolutionizes Home Fermented Beverages

Mocco's Jeasy brand has been awarded the Best News/Start-up Business 2025 at the World Beverage Innovation Awards. This accolade highlights the company's development of FermTech, a new fermentation platform that allows both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages to be produced at home with industrial precision. The technology is protected by a global PCT patent.

The FermTech platform is unique due to its ability to combine a long shelf life of 12 to 15 months at room temperature with the presence of fresh and active bacteria. This capability had previously eluded the industry despite extensive research efforts. The method supports the creation of various product categories, including alcoholic beverages under the Jeasy brand, health products like kombucha and water kefir under the KePro brand, and functional sports drinks with fresh lactic acid bacteria under the VitalFerm brand.

This innovation eliminates the need for a cold chain, opening up opportunities for a new generation of naturally fermented products, characterized by high quality, stability, and sustainability. Since winning the award, Mocco has gained significant recognition within the industry, enhancing its credibility with international partners and investors. The award has also motivated the Mocco team to continue advancing fermentation technology.

Looking ahead, Mocco plans to commercialize the FermTech platform through strategic partnerships in Europe and globally. The company is also exploring applications of its method in animal health products, particularly those based on water kefir to improve digestion and immune health in animals.

The World Beverage Innovation Awards, now in its 23rd year, continue to spotlight pioneering developments in the beverage sector. The 2026 ceremony will be held at BrauBeviale in Nuremberg, Germany, from November 10-12, showcasing innovations from across the industry.
