Euromilk Increases Efficiency with New SIG Filling Machine

Euromilk, a prominent dairy producer in Slovakia, has strengthened its collaboration with SIG through the deployment of a new SIG Slimline 12 Aseptic filling machine. This strategic move is designed to enhance production capacity, improve operational flexibility, and fortify its market presence domestically. The new machine is capable of filling up to 12,000 carton packs per hour across three distinct volumes: 500ml, 750ml, and 1,000ml, all on a single line. Changeovers between these sizes are efficient, requiring less than 15 minutes.

The technology underpinning the new system is based on SIG’s sleeve-based filling and ultrasonic sealing platform, which allows for quick format changes without affecting operational speed. Euromilk's investment is a response to the growing demand for its diverse product range, including white and flavored milks, cream, and plant-based beverages. The company also plans to introduce new products such as oat milk and Barista milk to align with changing consumer preferences in the region.

Sustainability played a crucial role in the decision to upgrade. The SIG Slimline 12 Aseptic machine supports both standard materials and SIG’s latest sustainable packaging options, which include SIG Terra Alu-free and SIG Terra forest-based polymers. These materials help reduce dependency on aluminum and incorporate renewable forest-based sources, verified through an ISCC PLUS-certified mass-balance system.

Tibor Balogh, the managing director of Euromilk, noted that the partnership with SIG has enabled the company to double its production volumes over the past quarter-century. He emphasized that the new machine will support Euromilk's commitment to traditional recipes, product quality, and sustainability while meeting consumer demands.

SIG representatives highlighted that this installation exemplifies how efficiency and sustainability can progress in tandem. Sarka Kaplanova, managing director and head of sales in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for SIG, stated that the flexibility offered by the Slimline 12 Aseptic machine provides Euromilk with the tools needed to lead in the Eastern European food and beverage market.
