De'Longhi Introduces Versatile Magnifica Duo Espresso Machine
De'Longhi has expanded its range of espresso machines with the introduction of the Magnifica Duo, a superautomatic model that offers both hot and cold drink options. Priced at $1,000, the Magnifica Duo is equipped with a 2.4-inch digital display and a built-in conical burr grinder, designed to simplify the process of making quality coffee beverages.
The Magnifica Duo measures 14 inches in height, 9.5 inches in width, and 17.5 inches in depth, featuring a compact footprint similar to its predecessor, the Magnifica Evo Next. Unlike the Evo Next, which is priced higher at $1,100, the Duo includes true cold-extraction capabilities and dedicated dual-carafe cold milk features.
This new model provides users with 20 preset recipes and customizable user profiles, making it easy to create a variety of beverages. It is equipped with De'Longhi’s LatteCrema Hot and Cool technologies and includes two milk carafes for separate hot and cold milk preparation. The Magnifica Duo also offers 13 adjustable grind settings and the ability to create up to three user profiles with customizable size, intensity, and temperature settings.
One of the notable features of the Magnifica Duo is its cold brew option, which utilizes Cold Extraction Technology to produce a cold brew in under three minutes. While not as bold as traditional 12-hour cold brews, it delivers a smooth flavor when poured over ice.
Despite its mostly plastic construction, the machine includes metal and stainless steel trim accents. The Magnifica Duo houses a single nonremovable bean hopper but offers a bypass chute for preground coffee. This feature allows for flexibility in coffee bean selection.
De'Longhi's Magnifica Duo is positioned as a direct competitor to the Ninja AutoBarista Pro, priced at $950. While the Ninja model offers two removable bean hoppers, the Magnifica Duo stands out with its dual automatic milk frothing carafes, making it a strong choice for milk-based beverages.
