The Juice Burst Drinks Co Reports a Significant Decline in Profits Due to Commodity Inflation
The Juice Burst Drinks Co, formerly known as Purity Drinks Co, has reported a notable decrease in pre-tax profits by 72.4% for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. The decline resulted in operating profits sliding from £3.3 million to £835,000, while profits before tax fell from £2.6 million to £978,000.
The company cited significant levels of commodity inflation as the primary driver for these financial challenges. According to its accounts filed at Companies House, the supply chains of orange and apple juice have been particularly affected, with unfavorable weather conditions and disease leading to poor harvests and higher prices. Rising oil prices have further added to transportation, production, and packaging costs.
Despite attempts to counter these challenges by reducing bottle sizes and increasing prices, the company observed a 4.7% drop in turnover to £25.7 million. However, this was a smaller decline compared to the 9.7% fall in the previous year.
CEO Scott Snell, who joined the company in April from previous roles at Mark Anthony Brands, Pladis, and Mondelez, stated that the company is focusing on building a sustainable future. Under his leadership, The Juice Burst Drinks Co has invested £1 million in refreshing its flagship brand and launched a new product line, Juice Burst Quench.
Snell also mentioned an ongoing new consumer campaign set to launch next month, along with new customer collaborations to reach a broader audience. According to Circana data, the company has seen strong sales momentum with unit growth of 25.6% and a value increase of 33% year-to-date as of July 5, 2026.
The company's strategy moving forward includes sustaining this growth momentum, continuing investments in branding, and strengthening customer partnerships.
