Suntory Reports Increased Revenues Due to Demand for Energy Drinks

Suntory Beverages & Food GB&I reported a significant boost in revenues for the year ending December 31, 2025, largely attributed to successful sales of their energy and sports drinks. The company's total sales amounted to £598.4 million, marking an 8.5% increase.

This growth was bolstered by the introduction of new products and a strategic marketing strategy, which saw the marketing budget rise by £8 million to £51 million. Michael Friel, the company's finance director, emphasized the role of heightened consumer demand and innovative product development in driving sales.

Lucozade Sport, energy drink brand Celsius, and the Japanese-inspired ready-to-drink brand –196, were singled out as top performers, reflecting the company's effective brand investments. In particular, the Lucozade Sport Ice Kick, developed in collaboration with footballer Jude Bellingham, achieved a notable 51% repeat purchase rate, generating £24.4 million in sales since its March 2025 launch.

Despite challenging market conditions, including inflationary pressures and evolving consumer behavior, Suntory maintained a gross margin of 51% and saw operating profits grow to £135.9 million, representing an 11.2% increase. Friel noted the resilience of Suntory's portfolio, which includes long-standing brands Ribena and Orangina alongside newer additions like –196.

“We have a resilient portfolio, strong customer relationships, and a long-term strategy which positions us well for the future,” Friel stated, highlighting the company's proactive approach in navigating market challenges while continuing to invest in innovation and long-term growth.
