Paul Cadden Introduces Banam, the World's First 100% Banana Water
Paul Cadden, the entrepreneur behind Saba, the contemporary Thai food restaurant in Dublin, is introducing a new drink from Thailand to the Irish market. The drink, named Banam, is the world's first 100% banana water and is set to launch this autumn.
Banam is made from Thai heirloom bananas through a proprietary enzyme-based process that extracts the naturally occurring water from the fruit. The drink comes in three different flavors: Banana Strawberry, Original Banana, and Banana Blueberry. Each 250ml can contains 37 calories and has no caffeine, artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or added water, making it a simpler and functional beverage choice for consumers.
The name 'Banam' reflects its Thai origins, combining 'banana' with 'naam,' the Thai word for water. Paul Cadden stated that after two decades of working with Thailand, this new adventure seemed fitting. He sees Banam as having the potential to create a completely new drinks category. The product also focuses on sustainability and reducing waste.
The launch will occur through selected retailers nationwide in Ireland, including BWG, Tesco, and Dunnes Stores, from October. Banam will be distributed by Simply Wild, Allegro, and Odaios Foods. The introduction in Ireland is seen as the first step in establishing an Irish-owned international beverage brand.
Banam naturally includes nutrients found in bananas, such as magnesium, manganese, and vitamins A and B6, as well as electrolytes. The brand's emphasis on natural ingredients and health aligns with growing consumer trends favoring products with fewer additives and functional health benefits.
