Nestle Considers Reducing Coffee Prices Amid Falling Bean Costs

Nestle, the world's largest coffee company, is considering reducing its coffee prices in response to the declining costs of coffee beans. This development was confirmed by Axel Touzet, head of Nestle’s coffee brands strategic business unit, during a statement at the company's headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland. The potential price adjustments come after a period of record-high coffee prices in 2025, driven by adverse weather affecting supply.

The company is known for popular brands such as Nescafe and Nespresso. Touzet emphasized that while the falling bean prices are a positive development, any changes in consumer prices would depend on factors such as stock levels and the prices Nestle paid for its coffee supplies.

Industry experts highlight that it typically takes a minimum of nine months for changes in raw bean prices to impact consumer prices. This delay is attributed to factors like roasting lead times and contract negotiations. Consequently, despite the recent decrease in bean costs, coffee prices in retail settings and cafes have remained high following last year's surge.

Touzet's comments are the most explicit indication yet from Nestle regarding potential price reductions. The company plans to adapt its pricing strategies according to market conditions and the current situation, taking into account the recent declines in coffee bean prices.

As the coffee market continues to evolve, Nestle's approach to pricing will be closely watched by both consumers and competitors, reflecting broader trends in the commodity market.
