Nestlé has introduced two new Nescafé frothy coffee products in the UK, aided by a £28 million investment in its Dalston factory. This investment has enhanced production capabilities and sustainability efforts.

Nestlé has launched two new Nescafé frothy coffee products across the UK, facilitated by a significant £28 million investment in its Dalston facility. This investment has allowed the company to expand its production capacity, enabling faster innovation and quicker time-to-market for new products.

The Dalston factory, located in Cumbria, received upgrades that include a new four-story mixing plant and advanced packing lines. These enhancements aim to increase the output of Nescafé instant frothy coffee sachets and transition to fully recyclable packaging materials.

The newly introduced products are the Nescafé KitKat White Flavour Latte and the Nescafé Lion Flavour Mocha. The former combines the sweet flavor of KitKat White with Nescafé coffee, while the latter incorporates the chocolatey taste of Lion into a frothy coffee format.

Ian Pipes, the Factory Manager at Dalston, emphasized the improvements in manufacturing processes resulting from the investment, which contribute to increased efficiency and output while advancing the company’s sustainability objectives.

Ingrid Hayes, Marketing Director for Nescafé UK and Ireland, highlighted the success of Nestlé’s confectionery-inspired product launches. She noted that these new offerings have attracted hundreds of thousands of new customers to the coffee category.

Dalston has been a pivotal manufacturing site for Nestlé since 1962. Initially established for fresh milk supply, the factory now produces a wide range of Nescafé frothy coffees, including Nescafé Original and Nescafé Gold Blend, as well as Coffee Mate. Over the past decade, Nestlé has invested approximately £100 million in the Dalston facility, with total UK investments exceeding £800 million.

Nestlé, the world’s largest food and beverage company, operates in 191 countries and manages over 2,000 brands globally.
