Naked Life's Italian Spritz Expands Non-Alcoholic RTD Market in the US
The non-alcoholic drinks brand Naked Life, owned by Australia's SPC Global, has introduced its Italian Spritz to the US market, marking a significant step in the expanding non-alcoholic ready-to-drink (RTD) segment. The launch is in partnership with Molson Coors, responsible for its distribution across the United States.
The Italian Spritz aims to bring the essence of Italian aperitivo culture stateside, aligning with the increasing trend of moderation in alcohol consumption. The RTD category, particularly non-alcoholic options, is experiencing robust growth. According to recent data, this sector is seeing double-digit growth in sales, with predictions of a 17% volume increase over the next decade.
Stephanie Clanfield, Senior Marketing Manager for non-alcoholic beverages at Molson Coors, highlighted that the moderation movement is evolving from a niche to a mainstream trend. She noted that consumers are now seeking options that allow them to enjoy social occasions without the presence of alcohol, especially during the summer season.
The Italian Spritz is crafted using steam-distilled botanicals and natural flavors, offering a citrus-forward profile with bright bitter orange notes, complemented by subtle herbal and floral undertones. The drink is also low in calories, containing no sugar and only five calories per serving. It is recommended to be served over ice with a slice of orange to enhance its flavor profile.
Clanfield emphasized that the demand for high-quality non-alcoholic cocktails is growing, and Molson Coors is focusing on providing sophisticated alcohol-free options that cater to this demand. Naked Life’s product range, which includes Margarita, Mojito, Negroni Spritz, Classic G&T, and Cosmo, is expanding in the US, with the Italian Spritz retailing at $9.99 per four-pack on Amazon and available in 100 Total Wine & More stores nationwide.
