MOMO Kombucha Introduces New Passion Fruit Seasonal Drink
South London's MOMO Kombucha is expanding its collaborative seasonal offerings with Amadora's Passion Fruit Kombucha. In collaboration with the fresh produce supplier Natoora, this organic product, certified by the Soil Association, will be launched on September 30 at £4.50 per 330ml bottle. The new release will be available at GAIL’s Bakery, Selfridges, Whole Foods Market, Ocado, Planet Organic, Zapp, Natoora, and through online sales.
Ingredient Sourcing and Technique
The passion fruit used in this brew is sourced from fourth-generation female farmer Amadora in Mairena del Alcor, Seville. Unlike traditional methods that harvest early to facilitate shipping, Amadora employs a unique approach by using nets beneath vines to catch fruits that naturally fall when ripe. This method results in fruits with reduced acidity and enhanced sweetness, which contribute to the kombucha's rich flavor profile.
Market and Sustainability Goals
This launch is strategically aligned with the trends of hyper-seasonality and supply-chain transparency in the premium soft drinks market. With passion fruit available only during two short harvest periods, specifically from December to March and July to August, synchronization across the supply chain is critical. The product also supports Natoora’s Farm Fund, which aids sustainable farming initiatives, showcasing MOMO's commitment to environmental and community responsibility.
Previous seasonal launches by MOMO Kombucha have seen collaborations across various sectors, including partnerships with coffee roasters, craft breweries, and fashion labels. These efforts underline the brand's strategy of engaging in limited-edition releases to boost market presence and maintain a premium brand image.
