Merlins Beverages Opens New EUR 50 Million Production Facility in Romania
Merlins Beverages, known for brands such as Vitamin Aqua, Lemonade, and Pop Cola, has completed the construction of a new factory in Romania. The investment totaled EUR 40 million, excluding VAT, which amounts to approximately EUR 50 million with VAT. The new facility was realized with state aid provided under a scheme run by the Ministry of Economy. It features two high-standard production lines from Krones, specializing in aseptic PET and dose packaging.
Company representatives stated that these new production capacities advance Merlins Beverages into a new development stage, enhancing its position among top players in the regional soft drinks market. The factory's completion aligns with the company's growth strategy as outlined during the production of the ZF yearbook, 'The Biggest Players in the Economy.'
Founded in 2011 by Ruxandra and Alexandru Melcovich, Merlins Beverages initially started with a EUR 500,000 investment in its first factory, funded by European grants. The company reported a turnover of over EUR 26 million in 2025, indicating its robust performance in the competitive market.
The company's expansion through this new facility highlights its commitment to enhancing production capabilities and market presence. The choice of high-standard equipment underscores their focus on quality and efficiency in beverage production.
