Medici Brands Introduces Ultrafiltrated Protein Milkshakes in the U.S.

Medici Brands has expanded its product offerings with the introduction of Protein Milkshakes in the United States. These new beverages, under the David Protein label, are crafted using ultrafiltered skim milk and lactase, focusing on a high-protein profile while maintaining low sugar levels. Each shake contains 30 grams of protein, between 140 and 150 calories, and less than 1 gram of sugar, aligning with the brand's emphasis on nutritious, high-protein foods.

The milkshakes debuted in the market in September, and consumers can purchase them through the David Protein official website or selected New York retailers. Details about broader distribution or production volumes have not been provided. The company recently added David Frozen Dessert to its portfolio, marking another step in its product line expansion focusing on protein, convenience, and reduced sugar.

Alongside the launch, Medici Brands reported raising $250 million in a Series B investment round, aimed at diversifying the David brand into new product categories. This financing underscores the company's strategic focus on developing dairy-based products, supported by ultrafiltration and lactase treatment methods that adjust protein and sugar content while retaining a dairy base, rather than opting for non-dairy substitutes.
