Keurig Dr Pepper appoints Russ Torres as CEO of Global Coffee Co
Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) has announced the appointment of Russ Torres as the CEO of its soon-to-be-established Global Coffee Co. Torres is set to join the company on November 3, 2026, starting as the head of KDP's Coffee Operating Unit. In this role, he will oversee the merger of KDP's coffee operations with those of JDE Peet's before the businesses are separated, which is expected in early 2027.
Russ Torres brings extensive experience from his time at Kimberly-Clark, where he served as president and chief operating officer, overseeing operations in over 30 countries. His past management roles include positions at Newell Brands, Bain & Company, and Mondelēz International, previously known as Kraft Foods.
The newly formed Global Coffee Co is projected to generate around $16 billion annually, employ more than 25,000 individuals, and have operations in over 100 markets. Its product lineup will include single-serve, roast and ground, whole bean, soluble coffee, and various ready-to-drink products.
The unification of KDP's existing single-serve coffee platform with JDE Peet's international coffee brands aims to create a powerhouse in the coffee industry. Familiar brands under their umbrella will include Keurig, Jacobs, Peet's, L'OR, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, among others.
Torres emphasized the growth potential and innovative opportunities within the coffee sector, considering it a dynamic area within consumer goods. The separation strategy is anticipated to provide better focus on both coffee and beverage operations for KDP.
Tim Cofer, the current CEO of KDP, is expected to head the future Beverage Co. once the separation is complete. The planned reorganization signifies KDP's strategic focus on distinct growth paths for its coffee and beverage segments.
