Frosh Introduces Protein-Enriched Juice for Kids to Target Stores

Frosh, a startup focused on creating healthier juice options for children, has recently launched a protein-enriched juice, which is now available in 1,650 Target stores across the United States. The product aims to bridge the gap between traditional juice boxes and protein shakes by providing 5 grams of protein per serving. This initiative comes as part of a broader shift in the children's beverage market towards functional nutrition.

The juice, developed with the involvement of celebrities such as R&B singer Ciara Wilson and her husband Russell Wilson, uses clear whey protein isolate to maintain a juice-like texture without compromising taste. This ingredient is noted for being virtually lactose-free and offering a complete protein source with essential amino acids, making it suitable for children.

Frosh's formulation also ensures the beverage is free from gluten, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, eggs, fish, shellfish, and sesame, aligning with its clean-label promise. The juice contains 7 grams of total sugar, with 3 grams coming from sugar cane, which is comparable to other better-for-you children's juice brands like Honest Kids and Good2Grow.

Prior to its retail launch in Target, Frosh experienced significant success in direct-to-consumer sales, selling over 5,000 cases in less than 24 hours. This achievement was a key factor in securing early interest from Target, which is seeking to rejuvenate its kids' juice aisle with innovative products.

The initial flavors offered by Frosh include Fruit Punch, Apple, and Orange Pineapple, which are designed to appeal to both children and caregivers by leaning into familiar and well-loved taste profiles. The brand plans to expand its product offerings further by exploring additional nutrients such as fiber, omegas, and greens.

Frosh's marketing strategy leverages its founders' celebrity status and a community-driven approach involving smaller creators to engage and connect with consumers. This strategy underscores the importance of authenticity and personal connection in building brand loyalty among its target audience.
