Coca-Cola Expands Billion-Dollar Brand Portfolio with New Additions
Coca-Cola has further expanded its portfolio of billion-dollar brands, bringing the total to 32 with the addition of Innocent and Santa Clara. These brands have joined the ranks of Coca-Cola's other successful brands, benefiting from the company's extensive market reach and strategic investments.
Innocent's Journey to a Billion-Dollar Brand
Innocent, a British fruit juice and smoothie maker, was founded in 1999 and gained popularity with its emphasis on fresh, premium products. Coca-Cola first acquired an 18% stake in the company in 2009, taking full ownership by 2013. Under Coca-Cola's stewardship, Innocent has expanded its product range to include flavored sparkling water and coconut water. The brand received recognition in Brand Finance's annual rankings, highlighting its industry influence.
Santa Clara's Growth in the Dairy Sector
Santa Clara, a historic Mexican dairy brand established in 1924, has also achieved billion-dollar status. Known for its ultra-pasteurized milk fortified with vitamins A and D, Santa Clara was acquired by Coca-Cola in 2012. The company has invested $133 million to increase production capacity by 30% at its Jalisco plant in 2023, positioning itself for further growth in the dairy sector.
These developments highlight Coca-Cola's strategy to diversify beyond its traditional soda offerings, tapping into growing markets such as juices and dairy. Both Innocent and Santa Clara have demonstrated robust growth potential, supported by Coca-Cola's global distribution networks and investment capabilities.
