Bol Introduces Matcha Power Shake Amid Growing Demand for Wellness Drinks

Bol, a UK plant-based food and beverage brand, has introduced its latest product, the Matcha Power Shake, to capitalize on the increasing consumer interest in matcha-infused wellness products. The company highlighted data from Mintel, which revealed that over half of the 35-year-old demographic in the UK had consumed a matcha beverage as of September 2025. This new product will initially be available exclusively online starting in June 2026.

The Matcha Power Shake is composed of Japanese matcha green tea powder, 27 grams of plant protein, and 10 grams of fiber, with no artificial additives or added sugar. Bol claims that this product offers 'the strongest nutrition claims of any other matcha protein RTD' currently on the market, according to Hollie Fox, the head of brand at Bol. She stated that the shake is designed to provide convenient, complete nutrition using real food ingredients.

This addition to the Bol lineup joins a range of Power Shakes that already includes flavors such as chocolate, blueberry, banana, strawberry, and vanilla. Bol initially launched this range in March 2024, and it is available through numerous major retailers, including Tesco, M&S, Co-op, Ocado, WHSmith, and Amazon.

Bol's strategic move to introduce a matcha-based product comes at a time when matcha is being embraced as part of a modern, balanced lifestyle. The drink aims to offer sustained energy and cater to consumers seeking wellness-oriented products.
