Air France Limits Drink Selection to French Brands, Keeps Coca-Cola

Air France has recently updated its beverage selection for premium cabins, specifically first class (La Premiere) and business class, as well as its lounges. The airline has opted to discontinue all non-French drinks, with Coca-Cola being the only exception to this rule.

The decision to maintain Coca-Cola in its lineup is attributed to its popularity among international passengers. Despite not being a traditional French beverage, the Coca-Cola served on flights departing from France is produced within the country.

In place of the removed beverages, Air France has introduced a variety of French alternatives. The new offerings include organic fruit juices, iced teas, artisanal lemonades, premium French tonics, and a newly added ginger soda.

Additionally, Air France has expanded its cocktail menu. Notable additions include a unique cognac-based cocktail in business class and a reinterpretation of the kir cassis available in premium economy and economy classes. The airline continues its tradition of serving French wines across all travel classes, and is among a few airlines to offer champagne even in economy.

While these changes largely pertain to wine and non-alcoholic drinks, the airline’s coffee offerings remain unaddressed in the current update. Historically, Air France served illy espresso and Segafredo drip coffee in its premium cabins. The challenge remains whether to continue this tradition or shift towards French-sourced coffee, which is less renowned globally.
