7Up Introduces Lime-Focused Evolution in Its Product Lineup
7Up, part of the Keurig Dr Pepper portfolio, has introduced the largest brand evolution in over 15 years with a new lime-led reformulation, which is being launched in the United States. The reformulation will apply to various 7Up products, including 7Up Regular, 7Up Zero Sugar, Cherry 7Up, and Cherry 7Up Zero Sugar, and will coincide with a new visual identity rollout that is set to commence nationwide from mid-August.
This significant change in flavour profile is based on insights from Keurig Dr Pepper’s State of Beverages 2026 trend report. According to the report, 72% of Generation Alpha and Generation Z consumers are inclined towards citrus flavors, while 64% are drawn to bold and intense taste experiences. Thus, the lime-focused reformulation addresses the evolving preferences of younger consumers who enjoy bold flavours and value distinctiveness in soft drinks.
Drew Panayiotou, chief marketing and innovation officer at Keurig Dr Pepper, emphasized the transformative nature of this reformulation, describing it as a bold reinvention aimed at appealing to a new generation of consumers. The decision to put lime at the forefront is intended to redefine the lemon-lime soft drink category.
The shift not only introduces a refreshing new taste but also aims to deepen brand loyalty and attract new users by providing a sharper visual identity and a differentiated position in the market. By spotlighting lime, 7Up aims to transform from a heritage brand into a modern disruptor.
